Do poker applications on Facebook work on the Iphone? Nope, they sure don’t. You may have heard of the latest poker application on Facebook by Ujogo. The site holds freeroll tournaments through it’s application where users win gift cards to Amazon and Just Poker Supplies. You also earn points for ring game play. It is a start up but seems to be catching on pretty well. The problem with playing poker through this application and others like it is that they are all flash based applications. Flash is not supported by the Iphone and there has no word about adding this feature in the near future.

I wrote about an poker app for the Iphone made by scenario poker awhile ago. Honestly, I played it once for 10 minuets and got extremely bored. The same thing happened when I played on Facebook. Free poker is a lucrative market and I expect to see many other applications continue to pop up. To be honest, I think it’s all a complete waste of time. The thrill have having a new gadget has worn off and I really don’t see the need to play poker on the Iphone. There is less than a hand full of situations where I would play on it and maybe I’ve been playing too long now to get any joy out of playing for imaginary points, prizes, or whatever stupid stuff they come up with next. It would have been nice to login to Full Tilt or Pokerstars when I was on a 6 hour layover on my recent trip but I think I can wait. Maybe when Apple releases the SDK the online poker sites will develop a client, but even then I wouldn’t count on it.
