Week 4 of the Battle of the Blogger Tournaments 3 has come to an end with 17 events have been played and $26,767 in prize money paid. If you haven’t placed a BBT3 banner on your blog do it before you miss out on a chance for a freeroll for a 2k WSOP seat. Visit Al Can’t Hang to get all the details for the BBT3 series. Don’t forget to check out my BBT3 tracking spreadsheet.
As the month is coming to a close, so is your opportunity to move up the leader board. It’s a very tight race at the top with TwoBlackAces currently holding the 1st place position. It should be interesting with two tournaments left and the top 3 positions very close (within 150 points of one another). The Blogger Big Game and the MATH could be the difference of who will win the first 2K WSOP seat of the Battle of the Blogger Tournaments 3.
This weeks results
I’m currently in 66 place thanks to another final table at the Mookie on 03/26/08. I finished in 9th place after a couple of bone head plays. While I’m really happy with the way I’ve played the last week, I’m a little disappointed with my play at certain spots in the tournament. I seem to make stupid plays when my M sits around 10-14 and it’s late in the tourney. I’m not sure why this is but I really need to correct it.
A perfect example of this occurred at the Mookie Final Table. I don’t know if I was tired, but I definitely didn’t think the hand completely through before folding. Joanne had bee playing a great game and I figured she had me beat and could find a better spot. In the end, I thought we were either racing or she had me dominated. I didn’t even look at my stack size until I heard BDR mention that I had just put 10% of my stack in. Opinions???

Take that hand and then look at this completely retarded hand. I mentioned that I thought I could find a better spot later. Well, that hand came 4 hands later UTG with………Ks-10s. Yup. I blew it all on two hands at the final table. I was hoping TripJax would be able to go on and take this thing down but he came up a little short.

I want to thank Dead Money Inc. and the guys at Buddy Dank Radio for introducing me to the blogger world. BDR was a great show and I look forward to listening in the future.

1I don’t think I like your raise with ATo in that spot. You’re squarely middle position, with a couple of bigger stacks to act behind you, and any reasonable raise in that spot almost commits you. (Almost)
On the cutoff or button, that’s probably a shove at least 80% of the time when unopened, but you’ve got 1/2 the table to act with a marginal hand. Any reraise either makes you fold or you’re calling with a hand that’s most likely at best racing. Even AJ is a bit problematic in that spot, but AT much more so.
I think that’s a fold you have to make PF, mostly given your stack size and position there.

2I agree. I play this hand the same way occasionally earlier in the tournament when the play is weaker. With the stack sizes so close here I’m inclined to fold most of the time preflop. I think what really bothers me is that I decided to open push K-10 4 hands later. These two hands just illustrate my bad decision making late in the tournament.
