The Poker Tour (dot net) has announced that it will give away 12 seats to the World Series of Poker. Three seats will be won at each quarterly tournament. Previously, the tour gave away prizes and trips to Vegas to play in other various tournaments. Although the site did not state which value of buy-in they will provide to the winner, I’m fairly certain that it will be the $1500 events which should include air fair and hotel costs.

Our second quarterly semi-final is now scheduled for Saturday, October 6, 2007, at FuNuGyz Bar in Parker, CO. Our second quarterly final is scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2007, and the location is also yet to be determined.

Registration for the tournament will be from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm and the tournament will begin at 1:00 pm sharp. All players must bring their winners certificates with them in order to be seated. Please also note that a buffet will be available at FuNuGyz during this time.

I’m pretty excited about this quarterly because I have 4 certificates and 2 bounties which should give me 7500 in starting chips. I’ve played in a couple finals but my results have been really poor. Each time I’ve played I had 1500 in starting chips and went out in the first couple levels. It’s really hard to gain any ground in these if you have a limited amount of starting chips because there are some good players who start out with a huge advantage in chips.

There are usually about 100 to 150 players in these final tournaments. I’m really curious how many players from the semi-final will be taken to play in the final.
